The Beginning of Sell Made Simple

Like all great things, there's a story :)

In 2008, I met my now wife, Christie, in Chesapeake, VA.  In 2012, we got married in Smithfield, VA.

Within the same month of us getting married, I decided to completely switch careers from automotive repair to real estate. At the same time, we bought our first home. It was chaotic but we learned so much in those first few years. Luckily, I had found a great firm with Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate NAGR and a great mentor. My first year, I won a national “Rookie of the Year” award with Better Homes and Gardens and was flown across country to receive this prestigious award. 

As I continued to grow in my career as a Realtor, Christie and I also dabbled in investment properties. The first year of marriage we purchased a rehab property in Portsmouth, VA. Over the years, we have continued to purchase distressed properties and this has exponentially grown my knowledge of houses and gives my clients a special advantage because I have knowledge other Realtors do not. 

In 2018, I decided to get my Class A contractor’s license, to continue building on my knowledge to better help client’s in the home buying process. One of the biggest benefits previous clients have found in using me as a Realtor is my honesty. I never try to “sell” a house. You will find that I walk into every house with a contractor’s eye, pointing out items that may need repairs, are outdated or overall could cost my clients a lot of money in the future. While, I am unable to perform a full inspection, many of my clients have found this initial insight very beneficial. It also gives my clients a competitive advantage when making offers because I am able to verbalize to the selling agent any concerns about the house which aids in negotiations. 

Moving forward to 2022, Christie and I decided to start a team under Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate. Sell Made Simple was born. Our goal was to continue serving our client’s in a way that best fit their needs. We had found over the years, seller's at times preferred a "Sell Simple" Guaranteed offer instead of a Traditional Offer. This realization and the desire to serve all of our current and future clients, led us to bringing on our first team member to assist in all things real estate.  

With Meredith on our team, we decided to broaden our service locations to include Moyock, NC and Currituck County. Moyock is a stone’s throw from my own backyard in Chesapeake, VA and is growing exponentially! Currituck County is currently the fastest growing in the state of North Carolina.

My years of experience, expert knowledge in various fields of real estate and top negotiation skills are here to serve you as needed. 

So what's the point of all of this?

It's literally taken blood (seriously, I have literally cut myself with a table saw while rehabbing a property), sweat (you have no idea how hot a house in Va can be without AC units and electricity), and tears (you can imagine). But here we are.  Today we have hundreds of grateful clients.  

And we're only here because of one thing, our clients.

I'm thankful for all those that have entrusted us with one of the biggest chapters and look forward to continue to service new clients in our region.
